Importance of Navgrah : The nine celestial bodies known as Navagraha play a significant role in religion and are believed to influence the lives of individuals according to their astrological birth chart. These Navagrahas are Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu.
According to Hindu scriptures, the gods Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Devi, and Ganesha, as well as the Sun, are considered to be the five primary powers that created the universe. These powers are said to be interconnected and dependent on each other. In the Mahabharata, it is described that when Shri Krishna showed his gigantic form, all the powers were connected to each other. These five powers are believed to be the creators of the universe by some Hindus, while others who do not follow the Hindu religion believe in a form of power they call energy.
The Sun, which is considered a form of the five powers, is revered as the ruler of the solar system, under whose control the other eight planets – Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and ketu – have been grouped to form the solar system of nine planets. This system is known as the “cycle of time.” The nine planets are permanent in different constellations, including all 27 constellations and the Abhijeet constellation, and are divided into the 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Different sects of the world have recognized these planets in various forms, and scientists have even established scientific institutions to study them, despite the fact that complete information about them can be found in Hindu and Jain scriptures.
The mathematical cycle of the 28 constellations, 12 zodiac signs, and nine planets is known as the “time cycle.” The effects of these planets on the 84 lakh yonis (a unit of time) in the universe determine the outcomes of their time cycle.
Hindus believe in the gods Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Devi, and Ganesha, even though no one has ever seen them in person. These powers are said to have taken on the form of the Sun God in the planet Sun, which is worshipped as the Sun God in the universe. The nine planets of the solar system, under the control of the Sun God, are believed to give their results according to the actions of living beings of all species in the cycle of time.
The Navagraha deities, also known as Sun God, Moon God, Mangal Dev, Budh Dev, Guru Dev, Shukra Dev, Shani Dev, Rahu Dev, and ketu Dev, are believed to give birth to all living beings in human and other forms. They are said to give darshan (appearance or manifestation) to those who seek it and to affect individuals according to their birth.
At the time of the birth of any living being, the position of the deity in a particular zodiac sign or constellation is believed to indicate the time cycle of the life of that being. The horoscope, through its dasha (a unit of time in Hindu astrology), is said to reveal the events that will occur throughout the life of an individual based on the positions of the nine planets at the time of their birth.
The Navagraha deities are also believed to appear in the sky every day to give darshan to all human beings. The distance of the deities from the earth, their size, and the time at which they are visible determine the darshan they provide. For example, the Sun God can be seen in the morning and the Moon God can be seen in the evening. The other planets can also be seen according to their location in the sky and the time they come near the earth.
Astrology is the study of the positions and movements of celestial bodies and how they affect human affairs and natural phenomena. Astrologers use the time, place, and date of an individual’s birth to create a birth chart, also known as a horoscope, which is believed to reveal the person’s personality, potential, and life path. The positions of the Navagraha deities in the birth chart are said to influence the individual’s characteristics, relationships, career, and other aspects of their life.
It is believed that the Navagraha deities can grant blessings and offer remedies for problems and difficulties encountered in life. Hindus often perform puja (worship) and offer offerings to the Navagraha deities in order to seek their blessings and guidance. The Navagraha temples, which are dedicated to the nine celestial bodies, are also visited by Hindus for the same purpose.
